the one of Hawking is a scan, you can just about make out the wheelchair. It was highly reflective hence most of it missing...and having to rebuild it. I also texture the scan of Hawking but it had to be done via zbrush because of the hi poly count. Maya refused to automap it.
the creature here with it original dismaps on. You can see the detail around the eye. I made sure it was there for the close up on the series, but for some reason they used a completely different map. Even after this was greenlit. Very strange. It goes to show you that some of your hard work can actually get thrown out or ruined at the last minute by someone not it the know. I had moved onto another job by this time so didnt have a say in the final look
The scanners here (as in the guys who get the point scanes not the bits of equipment) use solidworks for editing and reconstructing scans for engineering work (FEA Stuff).
Not tried it myself though. But I may scan something in and give Za go with it.
I saw the aliens one on Sunday, Great work on that mate, looking forward to the rest!
hey jay first off i know how working with deadlines can be and for you to reproduce such good quality work is amazing kudos man cant wait to see your next big job
Well my next bit of work out is the film Marmaduke, which is due in June but the trailers are online already. I did the big black dog called Bosco voiced by Keifer Sutherland, facial expressions for the small black dogs, the Collie dog voiced by the singer Fergie, and I did a fair bit of rework on the Cat.
My next project doesnt come out until 2012 which will be John Carter of Mars which is directed by pixars Andrew Stanton and the Design and Concept by Ryan Church. Im just busy modeling right now on it, and thats all I can tell you for now.
