coarse Plastic Bump map?

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a lego man for realistic closeup. I'm a noob to this so please bare with me.
I've attached image.

What I am trying to do is to make an image like this:

You can see the plastic bobble look.

My model looks too clean and needs some "battle scars"

I've tried using a map but this is the result:

I've looked for tutorials , videos on You Tube , but am stuck.

That bump texture doesn't look high enough quality for a extreme close up (and presumably HD) shot. The rectangular bump pattern is a result of the image's pixelation.

Hi, sorry for the delay.
Yes, managed to do it.

I'm now stuck on the signal. It's set to transparency using Material Mental Ray X (sorry if not right word).
I've tried putting lights behind it to light up the inside and then was going to use a spotlight with fog to beam out... although I know the edges won't be picked up.

Thank you for the help. Any ideas on the lights?
