Steven - Horror Challenge

Ok, I don't have any pics to post yet. But I just wanted to get a thread up to lay some pressure down on myself.

Hopefully I'll flesh some stuff out in ZB after work tomorrow, just so I can post a pic or two of what i'm going for.

2 months is plenty of time to get something done.

lol. Yeah, will probably find a reason not to finish this one too.

Anyway, decided against using my own concept, as this comps already under way and my concept is still very undeveloped.

So a little bit of browsing has turned up a few concepts I wouldn't mind tackling. Only problem is, i'm not sure which one, or if they're "Horror" enough.

Personally I'm leaning towards the first one. But let me know what you think.

I like the last one the best personally, but I'm not the one modeling it, haha.

Bullet, I wouldn't want to tamper with the concept too much, I like it too much as it is, but things could change during development.

Camel, Yeah, I was torn between all 3. I think the second one wouldn't take too long to do, so i wouldn't pick it for this comp (2 months to fill) But I do like the last one too. But I think I might go with the first.

i would say the last is more closer to a horror theme than the other two,
none of them look disturbing enough to be horror imo

but then, you could take the first picture and make it more horror-like

I can imagine you would be pretty damn horrified if any one of these creatures came running at you.

Plus it's more like implied horror... it's not how horrific they look, but how horrific what they do to their victims is. user added image

So, I think I'm going to go with number one. If Steve (as organiser) wants to chime in and say these aren't "horror" enough... then I'll probably still model them :p (outside the confines of the challenge of course).

So, are you jumping in on this one?

Bullet, yeah I like number 3 too, If I have chance I'll model them both (eventually).

Yeh number 1 does it for me...it just seems to have some power in it..know what I mean...just it as far as mythological kind of scene.

Yeh I do like 3.....the armour is neat and the subject is almost Regal...IMO. If you do 1 is brilliant 2 would be a bonus to the art world for sure...you do very good work m ate..no doubt there.

This. Loads of characters from older horror films and books like Nosferatu, werewolfs, dracula, frankinstein etc. weren't really dismembered and covered in blood....
