nParticles show repeated numbers

I have a weird bug with the nParticle Numeric render type (for diagnostic purposes). All the integer values are showing up as the same digit when I display particleId (see pic).

The display is actually taking the right-most integer digit and copying it for the rest of the digits (I know this because I can see the real particle Ids in the component editor). Has anyone experienced this? Would this be a Maya bug (I just installed 2016 SP4) or a graphics card bug or what?

The same thing happens when I choose to display position (integer portion only).
