Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Your Right! It looks like a Damn pit bull. I tried to get back that cat look a little but Something is not right. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

after looking at your last pic and going back and forth between that and one with a profile reference, i think the reason it looks more doglike is because you've got the snout coming down diagonally, when in the pic the whole from the nose down to the end of the mouth comes in a straight perpendicular line from the ground...

Yeah the problem is definatly in the snout. I went back to the head model and tried to redo some.

Looking good man, just started my Lion, might start a thread when I get some decent progress on it.

Cheers for the reference, seeing the muscle structure really helped in the modeling of the head for me.

Think I might cheat in creating the body and hack it out using Z spheres in Z brush, then bring it into maya to refine the lower poly cage with the reference that you gave me.

Are you using the sculpt poly tool to add the detail?

Cheers

Steve

I agree with neoStrider, also the reference pic and the image you posted are taken from a very similar angle, and in the reference the snout seems to be a little longer.

Wow thanks for making that drawing. I might even remodel the front of the head. I feel like doing it again with the knowledge I have now might be easier than trying to make old topology work. gster123 I do you the sculp poly tool but I also manually grab groupb of verticies and move them and then smooth with the poly tool. I also use clusters and latices a lot.

Hey man, I generally move verts then go to the sculpt poly tool etc to add some mass and detail etc, think I might go into Zbrush for some muscle definition etc for my project.

You going to restart the head or just remodel? Whats the poly level at the moment? If its low enouth just move hte offending areas into the correct places.

Cheers
