Unitize UV's

So also, i realized, or i think i did why my grass was going to the corner, but, i want a surface texture of a photoshop file i made on my poly. plane, so when i slap it on with a blinn material i have to unitize the plane so the image will not stretch but when i do that my paint does not work, what do i do?

take a look at radical edward's recent post in the newbie section of the forum. basically they said you gotta UV map your area first.
