Hi Maya folk,

I'm Eric Mootz, a guy from the XSI / Softimage corner. user added image
I am half-German, half-American, grew up in France and have been doing CG for about twenty years now.

Recently I have been diving into the Maya SDK and am very happy to say that
a.) Maya has a great SDK.
b.) two plugins have been successfully ported to Maya and will be available shortly!

Cheers,
Eric

Nothing wrong with us old timers in here....eh Ant!!

Some of these kids need sorting out in with their big cockshot ideas and fancy button pushing...LOL

I would love to see some of them deal with a standard 15million poly mesh and uv that to over 440 tiles!! With a real deadline....and keep as cool as a cucumber when maya eats your file!!!

Thats my man Jay!!! Im hearin ya, try 3 months of Survey modelling etc (same as you Jay in essence). Then laptop shuts down...EATS the damn thing, the backup file is corrupted! Then have to get a wriggle on as there is 10k an hour in machines and men waiting for setout. I had a 'L' plater Surveyor here, he literally shat and cried bahahaha. Lucky this old boy can keep a cool head whilst under fire user added image

Hey everybody and nice greetings from Bulgaria,

I have posted question before I see the introduction thread, but am catching up with the rules user added image
I am learning Maya more seriously since the last few months. Hoping to get better with time. It is wonderful that still exist forums with nice and polite people, helping each other. Have been reading you for a while before registering.

Happy Maya experiencing user added image

Welcome Cath!
It's not a rule to introduce yourself, just an option so that we can welcome you here and get to know you. Hope you find this a positive place where you can get your questions answered.

What? You mean Simply Maya isn't stocked to the brim with trolls and snobs? I'm so disillusioned...this changes everything! But seriously, I'd say the community is one of SM's best features, lots of help and no judgement. See you around the boards Cath! user added image

Hey everyone!
My name is Richard, I am 19 years old and I live in The Netherlands. Started getting into Maya a while ago and already making some good progress. I'm working on several projects for my portfolio (will be signing up for an education in VFX).
I have just purchased the Lifetime package and I am very impressed with all the material. Thank you so much! Gonna start on the apache project soon!

Speaking of projects, if you're comfortable showing your stuff there is always the W.i.P section and the Finished Work section.
