"Will user accounts be migrated over to the new site?"

david mentioned it, "Your user account would be automatically transferred to the new site"

... my account name from simplylightwave here on simplymaya is taken by an other user... isnt this a problem ? who get the name if the user are not the same and we have 3 different user from max maya and the lightwave community ? which community have the right to decide this ? ... if there are different user with the same name ? isnt this a little problem ?

Nope it's not a little problem it's a great big nightmare of a problem that I'm working on now.

From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"

Perhaps it should be the person with the most posts keeps the name unless the user hasn't posted for say over 6 months. That way in most cases its the most active user that gets to keep the name and it will confuse less people.

what are the chances of someone having mine, my user is just my firstname and last name joined together... hopefully there isnt someone out there like me :p

here are some suggestions i though about today...

1. one of the two users could decide weather which one would use a _ or any other letter/character at the end of their username
2. if one of the users have not posted/signed in withing 3 months or whatever, the other person with the same name gets that account.
3. one of the users will kind enough to concider of changing their name into something else.
4. have a battle off in designing something in 3d! user vs user :p haha!

I thought it was supposed to be up and running by April. Perhaps they have had a setback.
