mental ray

hey guys i was just wondering:
1) how much does mental ray cost?
2) where can i get it (i cant seem to find it on the alias site)?
3) are there any good tutorials that you guys know for it?

sorry to ask here but the mental ray site doesn't have much info besides that mental ray creates "amazing, breathtaking, phenomenal etc. etc." renders.

it should come with Maya 5 and 6, but maybe that's just Maya Unlimited. Alias doesn't make Mental Ray, Mental Images does.

no i know that alias|wavefront doesnt make mental ray but the mentalimage site doesnt have pricing, and links directly to the alias store only. i only have maya 4.5, is it possible to get mental ray for that?

yeah, well you used to be able to get a plugin from alias (i think) for maya 4.5. 5+ is integrated.
