https://www.ravage3d.com//images/neil...anship_7_2.jpg

starting to put alist of areas that I`m going to change.

First is the front end as it looks ugly.
also the detail on the side of the plain, I don`t like it. In the show there where other richer poliets who had much better looking sheilding.

I want a claus (name of hero of the show) vanship for my showreel and then my personal one for this comp.

any other ideas for my verson welcome ...

it's looking really good tweetytunes. You have really got this together fast.

definitely agree that the front could do with a little work, but overall this is looking great.

Any plans to include a driver for the vehicle?

Very nicely detailed and looking great HOWEVER, I would have liked it better if it wasn't directly following the concept you found online. I would have liked for you to have perhaps been *inspired* by the concept and made something of your own.

Don't take that as "scrap it and start over" as that would be a shame, and you won't lose any "points" or whatever. Just my personal preference. user added image

errr mike I know its unlike you you not to read though the whole thread but I have said all along that I`m going to change the model to a much more personal one.

I even started to name the parts I`m going to change 6 posts up. I mean its no different than taking a train and making it transform, or taking a blimp and adding a steam engine to it, just I modeled my reference as a starting block.

I wanted to know if I could model something like this before creating my own. Most of the work I do is character work, fancied a change.

Sketches are being done at the moment but this will not be the final thing.

I know what your saying. you don`t want carbon copy, you fresh original ideas - I`m just starting off with a plane and moving on up :p

I like this new updates, keep it up. user added image

However I notice, that maybe, your object needs some sort sense of scale. When you look at your last renders somebody could ask: "How big is it? Is it like average locomotive, or like space station?". I see you have the windows on it, but how big they are?
So I sugest you to add just a couple of detail, that everyone can recognize their scale. The Ladder would be good, or some sort of sci-fi elevator if your object is big enought.

Anyway, this will be realy cool when it is finished, and I can't wait for the wallpaper you will made for us. user added image

"some sort sense of scale" - how about the poilet and the navagator (although they are not built yet)

the best scale device in the world - humans.

but saying that you can see the cockpits. You can tell only one person goes in each of them and from that you can tell how big this thing is.

If you want some wall papers I think I can knock some up once its done. Until then feel free to check these old ones out.

well thats as far as I`m going with the ref verson of the van ship. going to start the navagator/ploit now then get back to customising the van ship.

things still needed to this to finnish
1. Rim around the cockpits.
2. The insides of the cockpits
3. Rework some of the main body and front
4. Figer head on the front.

but I`ll leave that until after this challenage.

here is a wire frame

One long weekend ahead, but the price you pay for watching "300" twice.:p
