Wierd camera

Recently, when using Maya live, the image plane is okay but any object I import looks like it has extremely exaggerated perspective as though the camera settings have been changed. Tried resetting workspace to no avail. Also tried reinstalling too.
At no point before this problem cropped up did I alter any camera settings. Whats up with that?

I assume you are using a PC. Maya keeps alot of settings in the my documents-> maya -> 8.0 -> prefs folder. People often reinstall and forget to refresh that folder and it carries all their old settings over
