Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

previous material inherit problem

i just started maya 8.0 un. a week ago, and i encountered this problem today

when i make a polygon or nurb or subdiv, and i attach a material to it

the next polygon nurb or subdiv i create will inherit the same material as the first one i made

how do i change the preferences so it doesn't inherit the previous object's material?

also, how do i remove a material from an object?

thanks a lot

are you changing the default lambert material'sattributes instead of creating a new one? that could cause your remaining (or new) objects to take on the same material attributes...

in order to remove a material you basically just have to assign another material to it. since there's the default lambert you can change it back to that... (hold right click over the object, choose materials, assign existing material, then choose lambert1... or just create a new material.

Accept no substitutions.
