Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

UV Issue

Alright so I just finished mapping, I just had an issue that I can quite figure out. As you can see in the photos my UVs are all in 0-1 and my UV snap shot only shows the left bottom corner of the grid. I am going to keep messing around see if I cant get it.

Actually no, it's a bit fuzzy in the image, but it looks like your UVs are laid out in 0-2.9 or something similar.

sorry didnt have a keyboard for a bit, i will post a different one, so you can see the layout better. But that black image on the left in the first post is my uv snapshot I also moved the hands to the bottom left so now its just showing part of those in the snap shot

Right, but if you look at the numbers in your UV texture editor, it looks like they go from 0-3 in x and 0-3 in y, so if you have your UV snapshot to just take 0-1, you'll only get 1/9th (to be precise) of your UV layout. I think you can either change the range that the snapshot takes, or better yet, change your UV texture editor back to 0-1 as it is by default.
