dog video tutorial

im going through this great dog tutorial and im converting the polygons right now
the problem is that when i try to use booleans to unite the head/neck with the body both the body and head/neck disappear right after i click on the union button.

does anyone know how to fix this or what might be the problem?

basically this: highlight both head and body click on union and both disappear.

thanks in advanced

This happens because the geometry isn't completely overlapping. Make sure that the geometry intersects completely, and then try the boolean again.

Yes, but there can also be many other things affecting why this happens. Booleans can be very helpful, but also very tempermental.
