Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Beautiful!

The audio really finishes the piece off, did you design that too?

Cheers,

Mat.

Chris,

I don't know how I missed this thread. I've been busy with work the last couple of weeks but I have popped in from time to time. You've done an awesome job mate user added image

Not sure if you've mentioned it or not in the thread, but what compositing application did you use?

BTW: Can't wait to see the rest of this!

Cheers
Paul

Cheers! user added image

Well, the sounds are from a CD SoundFX collection. Just edited them for a bit like the pitch and speed.

BMS: Thanks! I use After Effects 5.5 for the compositing!

Cool work Sir-Avalon user added image most impressive.

The only thing that looks a little odd to me is the middle section just before he shoots the 109 down (the same sequence). I know you want to keep them both in shot but the spitty looks a little false as it moves - like its on ice or something.

Other than that its fantastic stuff - top work.

Edit: watching it again makes me think that the spitty's movements are too exagerated or smooth in the small area of the screen.

Hey man, i am a big fan of ww2 ever since Battlefield 1942 came out, and i gotta say this is AWSOME. I always want to get good enough to make a dogfight scene or a tank battle(your next projectuser added image ) j/k but this is amazing, i could never stick with maya for a long enough time to actually get better, i always go on and off, now i am getting back on lol.
This is awesome man, keep up the great workuser added image

Maybe this will inspire you to work at it long enough to get something you are proud of.

I know that's how I felt when I first started using Maya.

Very nice sounds..the rendering, lighting and the textures look very realistic (not photo realistic at all)

Thank you all for your nice comments, they really makes me happy!!
Sorry, but I have to put this project on ice for a couple of week cause I have so much other stuff to do right now. I'll post updates when I can...

pbman: The music score is from a composer called Steve Jablonsky and a track called "Trailblazing".

Take care!
