This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Hi,

thanks that's kind of what I was doing... I'll just keep at it.

Wondered, do you work only with quads? Thought I seen some 5 sided shapes on the previous page on the parts with the circular holes (though it could have been that they are seperate from the main mesh).

thanks,

gubar

Nope, not at all... if you should only have quads you'll end up with a LOT of unnecesarry edges all over the model. Usually you should strive to have all quads around areas where there will be deformation when you smooth, and then you end your edge in an area that's totally flat and wont change during smoothing.

As mentioned before. It's allways nice to see what you are up to DJbLAZER user added image

Your work is inspiring. Are you planning to "do" something with this model? Making a scene or... ?

Man, you got some nice work here!

Though, it would be cool to see you model something more complex.... like a hi-res Tank, or steel building.

Anyhow, nice work. user added image

Nah, nothing planned at the moment...

I'm in the process of texturing the back, but I'm held back because I can't find the exact fonts... I've tried "WhattheFont" and "Identifont" without success.... so I guess I'll have to manually browse my fonts a choose a similar looking....

Load it up in Photo Shop, and Bobs your uncle! user added image

You'll have to have a hell of a camera to take a photo of it... since it's metal you can forget about using a flash, I've tried... I'm almost finished now anyways.

Texture of the rear is now finished. Materials are not final and will be tweaked some.

Well. if you have the materials like a external flash, and an omnibouncer it wouldn't be a problem. But I'm sure what you did was less time consuming, and it certainly produced results! user added image
