Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

It is similar...but better Lol

Just bump maps on the pipes this time, more efficient for that stuff.

Cool, something about the design of the floor reminds me of the Emperors throne room in Return Of the Jedi

Cool if you say so. Can't remember. Is that the bit with the hole/shaft in the middle the old dude get's thrown down after some force tazer treatment?

Sorry for my Star Wars ignorance.

Here's a piece of some equipment that will be fixed to a low beam above the capsule.

Finally got around to using Zapp link at last, used it to texture this just now. Damn cool way to texture. Will def be using it more often now.

Hey.

Wasn't sure whether to post any more of the scene or wait until it's used in the comic but thought I would post an update.

There is still plenty more work to go into this both modeling and texturing, shaders, rendering and post so it will look quite different in the final version

Hey all.

I prob won't be able to post much stuff for a bit as I'm mostly finalizing pages and content for the site as it will be up on May 30th.

Here is a pose sculpt for the time being. Ignore the head it's just a placeholder and will be replaced by the rigged head in Maya.

Level 2 for clothes with normal maps seems to work a good balance for me in most shots. Not going too close on her until later...

Not gonna bog things down with dis maps for the time being.

Cheers
