Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Mythological Gods - undseth - Normal

I'll model the norse god Thor.

ahem... I'll draw something really soon. I could use some polygon experience.

I'm thinking friggin good model, some fur, cool hammer, some interesting pose, and a cool environment.

aw this pic is no good...

But I'll do some more sketching. Adding details, so I have a strong idea of what to create with maya.

Now I'm getting somewhere

It takes some time to warm up my drawing skills. There are still some more sketches to come.

Posture

This is but an idea, but I feel comfortable with it.

He needs more "attitude" but I'll embark from this sketch.

Clothing

This was done in no time, but I came to a halt when I got unsure as to how he should look like.

Wow, that's nice!

Very clean drawings and a good eye for detail. I would say that the only thing I would add is a more "aggressive" stance. If not in the drawing then in the modeling aspect. Thor, to me, is never really standing still even when he is.

And you don't like to draw??? Could have fooled me!

Thor the bore

Well, if this was a painting, I'd call it; contemplation...

hehe well thanks everybody, I call it quits and will not do more work on the following drawing.

hmmm yes, I think he looks like a whimp right now, but that can be improved. Not an improved whimp, but an improvement from the whimpy posture. user added image

edit:
I'll do some modifications to the design of the hammer (called mjölnir) and to the girdle (called Megingjard I think)

What other stuff can I put on him guys??? Suggestions?

hmmm...

buckles, button, pouches, perhaps more fur-lined (gotta think about the 3D, though...) soles on the shoes, etc... just a matter of details. A lot of that you can do in the model.

Hmm....Not sure if my Norse history/mythos is quite up to par, but I think his helmet had wings instead of horns....
