Wooden cabin

Hi everyone!
Im working on a house and its harder then i thought.
I really dont now how to make the roof (or what its called in english). i would like it to have a nice "old feeling" if know what i mean.

Can anyone perhaps draw a bit on the pictures were i should put the roof skeleton.? (the big wood piecis)

old fashioned is the word your looking for? i once made a log cabin, looks like youve made bumps for it? when i made mine i just made loads of logs and piled them up :p for the roof i used planks of wood, log cabins can have many different types of roofs, like ;

etc, i cant post em all. the simplest if the long planks, but the best looking is probably the bottom pic.

ps, to make things look old, basically just model it new and add bumps and dirt textures to it, crack a few slates. remove a couple etc

Okey! thanks, i will remember that, for now i have a simple brick roof because i could not do it the right way

Now its dont look old i know, alot is going to be changed. As you can see I have put some color on the material just to see whats good or bad. I will use texture to everything in the end.

nice job, i think your door needs to be bigger though and touch the ground (maybe a little step up)

i thought the door was in bad size to. but i checked it and the proportions is right. Perhaps old stile doors are larger?
anyway, here is an update:

as you can see, I dont have a roof, really dont now have to do it.

something still seems wrong, the windows are about the same size as the door ;/ maybe move your windows up a little, and then make the door bigger,

i made the door a little wider, but now the little windows is to close to the door, by the way.. om not going to use the white"doorframe", its just to see the proportions better

Nice work. I like the trim on the roof. And the door does look better now.

When its finished im going to upload it to the download section. This is just a practice for me. But it would be nice to share this project to others.. i do the house, and someone else to the nature or something..

DJbLAZER --> perhaps.. not :p
