Hey Rob,

It is, or was in Paris today. I hope it may be here either tomorrow or the day after. I cant wait.

I will gladly post up some stuff as soon as I get some results that are worth it. I will look at your stuff as inspiration.....user added image

Looks like it will be a great app for providing a setting for some of my Maya stuff. So much to learn....

cheers for straightening that out for me,
see ya,
mic

Im setting up a website now and ill upload all my high quality pics as all my images that ive posted are heavily compressed.

Anyone have any Landscape or Scene ideas that i can try and create?

Cheers.

i think Gi takes so long cause im not sure u should use it on a outside scene as the photons emitted just fly off into space or something which means they take forever to calculate. thats why u have huge render times.

coming along nicely man, really interesting setting, I do think there is a lot of stuff going on and i'm not sure you need all of it... the moon seems to stand out and take away from your work.

Remember your light source. It appears the sun is in the upper left hand corner of the image, beyond somewhere. But the moon has its shadow on the other side......

Id love to but that was only an example of a landscape i made in vue, i import my maya models into vue to create my scenes, i find it hard to create a scene in maya as i can create landscapes in vue 1000 times better than maya.

On the other hand if you have vue i can walk you through it.
I can definatly say it brings your maya creations to life.

Cheers.

The scene complexity that can be acheived in Vue is stunning -- not to say that Maya couldn't do it...user added image

Is Vue easy to learn compared to Maya, because I'm very intrigued with what I've seen so far and might even consider getting into it myself?

Your right maya could do it but i dont think ill live that long :p
(im 20)

Vue is awesome its worth every dollar. Brings your Maya creations to life.

And yes its easy to learn due to the kickstart tutorials that came with it were all i needed to get going. After those i was making scenes like above. Well maybe after a bit of practice.

Cheers.
