Noob-Grasshopper

Hi all, I've decided this time I will complete a challege from start to finish. Here's my grasshopper so far, still plenty of detail to include.

it's a good start. at bit more definetion around the eyes would be great. a good idea would be to post wireframe, so people can comment the lineflow.

Its a good start. Maybe post some reference pics? I'm noticing where the legs meets the body of the hopper there are some sharp looking polygons that might need smoothing.

Don't forget, the head is all that is required for the challenge. So, lots of time for super-details! user added image

Heres my progress so far, think I may have a play around with Zbrush for the finer details.

Just realised I posted the wrong pic, this is one I will be using for texturing purposes. It differs slightly to the references I have used.

yep just the head jhubbard though if people want to model more then there's nothing against it, but only the head will be judged.

Nice basic shape on the head. Looks like the eye should be more defined. Also the feelers where they enter the head and the mouth area look quite detailed in the ref pic.
Good luck with the progress user added image

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out t1ck, I'm aware that only the head will be judged but I want to complete a model start to finish for once.

Cool model, and great choice - and judging from the start I think you might belong in the normal category..
