Hi Jack

Yeah tutorial started during the week too, but everyone is still gonna have to wait until this Model is done I'm afraid, I'm trying to make it as easy as possible without too much text but just nice easy images for everyone to follow.

Hopefully post an update for this thread later with some hair on

Later

It looks like a blin or maybe even a double skin technique
* two layers *
but if it's not a ramp with an inserted texture then it must be
just plain projection...
am i getting anywhere?

I know it's not a realy great system
but it gets the job done....

Its probably actually just a ramp with a blin on it. And for the iris you can just use a fractual with a color gain on it.

Dudes

The eye has caused controversy?

Well eyes have always intrugued me with human modelling and its damn hard to get it right, I mean I'm still trying to get it right, and this model is the best so far.

I think Mutated Helix is the the closest. Its two spheres, one over the other, one with a slightly concave surface and the other with convex surface. The map itself is actually a Hi Res texture from dosch design, I have one of the cd's. as I wasn't happy with some of my own stuff and also various tutorials out there. Theres only been one really good tutorial I have seen by a guy called Juan Sisquier ( I think this is the right guy) which is pretty good. But in the end I like to stick to my own methods. Skin textures I'll always take real hi res photos of people and then edit those accordingly.

I'll post tnite, a copy of the eye for you to look at, if I get time

It a really good model, I would like the tutorial too. If you can put how to paint a good texture for the head and the hair it would be
of great help. And also the material for the head, it is a blin? and what settings are you using. I have never found a tutorial that shows how to paint a skin texture in photoshop for the face. The alpha texture for the hair is also very hard for me to paint. So if you have time to put all this in you tutorial it would be great for me and for all the people that has this kinds of troubles like me.
Dont forget to e-mail me the tut.... GREAT WORK

Hey Dudes

Update time!!

Kazama, as I explained before I take pics of people at really hi-res (around 3-4k) and edit them accordingly in Photoshop, men I tend to leave a bit rough but the women I tend to put a couple of layers of different color to 'smooth them out' more as to keep them very feminine looking and also remove any spots etc.

All you guys heres the images of the eye. You can see the edges on the render where one light is reflected twice on the eyeball, so it looks pretty neat. On the wires you can see the concave and convex effect on the model. Hope this helps.

Eyebrows next, then she wont look so bald!!

Enjoy

Hi Guys

Another update but slightly different.

Just a quick note, all you guys that want the head modelling tutorial will get it as soon as this is done and I will go thru the process of Uv's too, but I'm not doing the texture stuff that a couple of you dudes have asked cos I just wont get the time to do my stuff that needs doing, and believe me I have loads to do in the next few months, anyway less of my crap, enjoy the update
