Edit Mesh- where is it in 2010?

Im an Online Student. The teacher only does support from 7pm-11pm mon-wed-fri but i need this answered NOW beacase i need to study as well as work a job i cant wait for him to geta round to my question.
In his oudated videos the edit mesh ability is on the main shelf... where is it in my newr version? I am pulling my hair out. The Autodesk site crashes when i try to log in or else id bother them..

Please help!

assuming autodesk hasn't changed any menu locations since 2009...

...edit mesh is in the polygon menu set...

if you haven't already go look at the tutorials that come with maya...




that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"
