Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

guys, got all of the pedals done, decided to do a quick render test. This is still not close to being finished. but it was just for fun, the background pic I got from images.google.com, and for my final I will use my own photo that I am going to take tonight when I get home from work. It will be 1024x768. What do you think of this test?? I still have to do the detail stuff now. Hope it won't take to long. thanks,
Brian

BTW i know the placement of the flower just sitting on the stem is totally wrong, but It was just a test to see what it would look like with a background

there's loads of noise on that, maybe too much?

spose if it's gonna be composited onto a background which is noisy, fair enuff.

cheers

Final Render

This´ll have to do as my final render. (¿?)

Don´t have a computer as of this moment, since a friend of mine is actually seeing if he can somewhat upgrade mine with spare parts from his little collection. (birthday present perhaps? :p)

In any case, I enjoyed the battle a whole lot, gave it a lot, learned texturing -didn´t know that- and I trully wanted to give you a run for your money, however circumstances seem to always conspire against me.

-Little word: Not droping out. Consider this image my final render.
I´ll get ya some other time Brian. user added image

Have a cool day guys,

This was definetly a photoshop learning experience for me because this was the first time I have tried to create realistic textures, without the use of photos (without copying colors veins and stuff). How do you think it is comming along? I decided to just go ahead and make a composite of what I have finnished, for my final. It should be done before 4pm. THanks guys, Can't wait till I can post my final.

If that's mostly done by hand then I am REALLY impressed, because I personally would HAVE to use a scanned imageuser added image

In my case both textures were done in Photoshop, the petal, and the stem ones. Lot´s of layers. The thing that took me the most was the UV mapping since I was using Automatic Mapping on an already smoothed out version (I deleted History accidentaly) so you can imagine all the edge merging and UV selecting that ensued.

In any case, Mb file are backed-up and at some point of the near future I´ll pull out that final render. Again, I had en excellent time, thanks for that Brian.

Izzy .. Thanks for the words buddy! user added image

But after working on it so much in the last 2 days I am kind of burnt out... the pollen could use alot of attention, its an easy fix, but i am just going to say that i am finnished enough for the competiton. so... How do you think it looks?? Please let me know your opinions, i have been workin really hard on this.. And M..... you should be proud of me.. I actually finnished!
