Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Boolean crashes

I am making an object and have already done 6 Boolean expresisions on it and they go fine.

When I came to do a 7th it has the windows hourglass there for ages and then I have to press ctrl alt delete and find it is Not Responding. The shape is not that complex and all the others have gone fine.

Anyone else had this problem?

it's usually a good idea to delete history between booleans, as they can be pretty intensive to the cpu.

True. I have a similar problem in that whenever I try t boolean certain things, the geometry disappears. It seems that booleans can only be used on certain types of geometry. Also, putting more than a few boolean cuts or additions causes it to disappear also.

Deleting the history worked but it still takes ages :-(

That's just one of those thing I have to live with I guess, cheers Mike.
