A tip for rendering animations..from a newbie

When you have set your render globals for your animation and everything is set to batch render, open up your camera attributes and go down to output settings and make sure that 'renderable' is selected.

This is probably 'old hat' to veterans but it saved me from much hair pulling over why my render stopped before it started.

Anyway, just thought I would pass along what I discovered being new to Maya. Hope it helps.

well, I'm glad that worked for you. You want to be careful to make sure you turn that off if you have multiple camera's though. I remember selecting Camera 1 only to have it render from the Perspective camera, because it was set at Renderable.
