Cloth Help Please!

Hi, I have been having a lot of troubles with the Cloth Effects in Maya 5. I have looked on many websites and watched the T-Shirt tutorial on this site, but they all assume that everything is going to go smoothly.

I did exactly as the tutorial showed, but when I playback the scene to let the cloth simulate, the dang stuff crumples up and slumps off of my character! I set the Collison object and changed its settings to .2 like in the tutorial, but have given up with the simulating because I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Is there anyone out there that could give me some pointers, or tell me where they have a Trouble Shooting section for this sort of thing? That would be much appreciated! My Modeling is due tomorrow, ack! user added image

Post a pick up so i can see it... Each model is different when it comes to settings. It just trying different settings like offset and collision as well as how big or small you modle is, to make the cloth react the way you want, like anyhting it takes time and tweaking to get it right.
