Subsurface Scattering Thickness Problem

Ok, here is the picture with the default settings after i put on all the correct nodes and lights.

As you can see in the wireframe, this tart crust has 4 walls.

I am doing something wrong right? I am supposed to see a bit of noise...but I couldn't.

The question is how to how to get light through more than 2 walls of geometry?
