Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Added a few more bits, not too happy with the hands so i'll go back and give them a tweek.

Gonna add some more bits to him and probably remove some skin from one of the upper arms with a metal tourniquet of some sorts.

Also need to add some detials to the pants and the boots etc etc.

hey gster - this is looking really cool - it's coming together nicely - the repeat of the straps reminds me a little of some of the suits from dead space (which is a good thing user added image ) and i really like the asymmetry.

i think the jaw is maybe looking a little sharp - tho i know he's supposed to be fairly dried up.

his back is looking very cool too. user added image

Hey Guys,

tad of an update, modeled some creases in his pants, there going to be a "rubbery, plasticly" type material. I've also softened the jaw line up a touch as looking at it it was a tad sharp, cheers Arran.

Off to start on the boots now, then I'll have a fiddle with the arms as I've got an idea which I want to try.

Cheers

Steve

Bit of an update, started to go in and go a bit mad with the sculpting, just letting it go.

Gonna re-do the brain I think. to make it more "real".

Cheers

Steve

Had a bit of time this evening and decided to go and polypaint this dude, just all polypainting with standard colours etc, no photo projections/textures just painting, having fun at the moment doing it, might change the overall colour tones as there a tad too "fleshey" want it to be kinda light greenish looking, I can tweek that in PS though. Just getting the overall colours in there.

Any crits/comments as usial appreciated.

looks like a nice start - definitely think a change of colour will help - i might try to really push it towards white - with color in the darkest areas - blue/green might be cool. user added image

Very nice.

The texturing is looking good. I like the subdermal vain effect... maybe you should try putting in some of the bigger vains/arteries. Like up the neck, and on the head. as you can see the small deep ones, you should be able to see the larger more prominent ones.

Nice work!

Cheers Steve, Now you come to mention it I will!

Just had a little fiddle with the above image in PS at work to adjust the colours to where I want them to be, jsut to see how it looks, its more to where I wnat to go with him.

When I get chance I'll export the texture out of Z adjust in PS and reapply and carry on. Need to get the scars on his mouth looking a little more "ruddy" If feel.

Yeah, well, I think so Steve. It reminded me of the character from Wolverine...which I thought was cool...

looking forward to the rest...
