Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Character Shot, Update - no 56k!

Hey there,

Hope you like it. It´s my first Maya Model - Polygonal Modeling/Subdiv Surfaces (CPS Scripts).

Edit: Well, guess I´ve to add a few more words ;-)

It´s not anyhow finished yet - the back area is not done yet, I´m working on it. It misses a LOT of detail and I have to adjust it, so it´ll be possible to use it as a right and a left shoe.

Hope I´ll be able to texture it properly, maybe someone knows a few good Maya Texturing Tutorials? It´d be great if there´s an equivalent of Texporter available!

seen that before....I forgot. or maybe it was similar. But this image is already saved in my mind. I may be a bit crazy.

I like it. But...a shoe with a part of a leg....and the rest?

look in the link database (it's somewhere on here, not sure of it's exact location right now) and you might run into some texturing tutorials. otherwise, search google for it and you'll likely run into a site that has like 988 tutorials on it.

as for Texporter, i think that feature is built in to Maya's UV editor, so you're in luck.

Guess you got it wrong. It´s actually not my first 3d model, it´s just my first Maya Model ;-)

I´ll add details and texture it. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Alright.

First of all: I actually dont have that much time and therefore this update is not a milestone.

I'll use those parts for several models:

a) Link Model: Just for the sake of it. I always wanted to model him :-)
b) A Dwarf: For my first Maya Animation.
