Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

RockyMills_01 - Winter Challenge

Hi guys.
This is my very first attempt at a Competition. I don't have as much experience as you guys but I'll give it a shot.
I am still in concept phase but one of my ideas for my project is using gaming as a sport. In the future video games will be played professionally and competitively, like Football or basketball , challenging opponents in speed, agility, knowledge and gaming reflexes.
The idea is to build a large stadium, where two teams (red vs blue) the crowd goes wild as their favorite team battle it out in the final round in the championships.
I don't know what game they would playing yet probably Halo or Street fighter.
I will create a large screen so that spectators would see their teams' progress.
I will get sketches posted to give clearer picture when I am done.

This entire sounds cool. Just to help you a little, the 2 biggest video games in tourneys are Halo and SSB.

Games are already been played professionally. Such as events like WCG - World Cyber Games and is also very big in Korea. Correct me if i am wrong, they have a television network dedicated to gamer tournaments.

[EDIT]

Another two i just remembered are, CPL and ESWC

Thanks for the positive response. I am gonna change things up a bit, instead of having this as an international event, I am gonna make it more domestic.

Picture this....Two childhood friends, who met every afternoon after school for some competitive gaming. Their game of choice something old school like Street Fighter Alpha 3.
One day one of them got an acceptance letter to attend college in another state. The two friends will not see each other for a very long time so they decided to dedicate a week of intense training to sharpen their skills and techniques for a final rumble which they called "The Crown Match"
This match will decide who the best really is, and the loser has to give up playing the game forever.

The scene will show the two friends battling it out in the final round. In the background, as witness to this monumental occasion, a stadium filled with spectators cheering them on.
10 seconds left on the clock, who will be crowned the next King of Fighters (no pun intended).

The two boys will be in the foreground. I have that idea but I don't really know how the stadium in the back would look yet. I am still working on it.

Well, here is my progress thus far. I got some more work to do on the couch though but i am getting there. I hope everything is to scale.
My next task is modeling the two characters. This will indeed take up alot time to get right.

Another progress report.
I finished most of the art work for the snacks in the foreground of the scene. Some of the products will be Halo 3 Cola, Mario Pizza, and Wii Chips.
I am soon done with the UV layout for the second character. Then its on to some serious texture work on those guys.
Since most sports require some majority of movement. I will try to represent that in character pose and expression.
Hope you like the presentation.user added image
