Major Lattice Probs!!!

Hi,

I just discovered a serious problem with my character! I've used lattices on the eye's, so that I could deform the shape of the eye to fit into the head whilst being able to rotate it and still have it fit the head whithout it popping out the sides! Now, I animated a walk cycle and found that as the character moves the lattices seem to drift slightly around there local position, it's asthough they they have some kind of offset from the bone that they are parented to?????? Any help much appreciated.

did you parent the lattice itself to the head?

Yeah, its parented to the head bone that the face is skinned to?

Could it be double transformations? Don't know if you walk in place but if you translate the root over a distance it should become really evident if the eye(?) breaks away. If that's the case maybe someone else knows how to set it up to avoid that.

if the lattice is parented to the head then I think it will translate around the pivot point of the head and then it's own pivot. That would give you some sort of offset. You may want to adjust the pivot of the lattice to get a better result.
