This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

New tutorial WIP - Ferocious Dinosaurs ;)

something a bit different from my usual work. Will be out tomorrow bit of tweaking left but i'm quite pleased with the final result. Not quite as scary as the velociraptors from Jurassic World

Will cover the modeling, UV and texture painting plus the shading and lighting in Maya.

Happy you like the look of it, you should also love Mari with the wacom I know I do.

The tutorial is split into two volumes (modelling) and (speedy uv'ing, texturing, materials and lighting) both of which will come out at the same time, i'm still aiming for tonight.... So you'll be able to grab just the texturing if you want to jump straight in. I will of course be providing the scene files. I'll also be covering SSS in maya 2016 some lighting and a look into the mila material.

Here is a wireframe.

All the best
David

Sorry still a few hours to go on the upload, i'm uploading this one from home rather than the office and i've underestimated (badly) how slow my personal internet is for uploads user added image It drives me nuts, it's a reminder of what being in 56k was like!

Looks like i'll have to finish in the morning user added image Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

The modelling was done by a colleague of mine and she is just recording the intro now. She is a better organic modeler than I am so we split the workload. I can't see it taking more than an hour or two to get it online.

Skip ahead in volume 02 to part 07 this is where we get into Mari i've included the .obj you need in the data directory, if you have not used Mari much this would be the place to start if you want to give the tablet a bashing user added image

I'll post here when volume one is online
Thanks for the support btw really hope you get a lot out of this one
All the best
Dave

Volume one is live. I'm still waiting on an intro and a better description but they will follow shortly.

@mythandra lacking an intro i've added enough video credits to your account so that you can grab the first lesson pack right now user added image if you'd like to try before you buy.
