Unmanned VTOL craft - WIP(?)

Howdy,

I wasn't sure whether to submit this as WIP or Finished; I feel done enough to put it in my portfolio, but I'm always open to criticism.

Be honest - the truth only hurts those who can't handle it.

The concept is from a good friend who is the Art Director at www.supervillainstudios.com.

Thanks! It's about 8500 polys, but I think I used too many in details that folks will never see, and not enough on things like bevelled edges, and places where more polys should go. Needed to finish this for a portfolio submission, otherwise I'd still be working on it.

I'm open to constructive comments as well. Thanks!

Bit boxy for my taste, but still looks good. Can you show some other angles please?

These are the rest I have rendered. I can provide textures as well if you like.

One thing that bothered me more than anything else, were contrasts in edges. Some of the edges were really sharp (unrealistic), while others were maybe a little too smooth for the model (ex: the wing structure). You should try and find a happy medium where the contrast isnt so noticeable.

That's the thing. If you could see the original, you'd know why I did it that way. I'll see if I can get permission from the artist (and a good friend) for comparison. I know it's boxy. I was wondering how far "artistic license" can be taken with something like this, you know?

:-D

Cool. Looks like the Pelican in halo.

Nice design, I would like to take a look at that website, but its down at the moment.

Looks good. Also, maybe it would be better if you beveled the edges just a bit so it didnt look too "boxy"

Nice work mate.
