looking great so far. very mechish. Is it sapposed to be a charactor in armor. A robot or what? right now looking more like a robot.

Pony: I'm working from 3 totally different reference pictures as each has qualities that I want to incorporate into the final character.

Twisted: It does look mechish right now. The characters "manga" qualities will be more obvious once you see the torso, chest and head are completed. Texturing will also play a big part in capturing the manga qualities..

Right now it reminds me a lot of Neon Genesis Evangelion Anime (NGE), especially the purple Eva(what the mechs were called), 001.

Cant wait to see the core.

It's not one of my references (in fact I've never heard of it before) but I just did a Google image search and you are right... there is quite a resemblance to the Eva characters.

If you like animes NGE is actually one of the best ive ever seen. And they are currently making a live action adaptation of the series.

I do like your mech. IVe actually altered mine a little and it looks a little like yours in the upper leg area. thats about it so far though.

Well, I managed to spend an hour on the torso... it's really heading in the direction I wanted it to!

Twisted: I added some very basic shaders for you.

As you can see, I've made a start on the arms as well... although this will have to wait for tomorrow night.

If anyone is interested, the polycount on the model in that render is: 3973.

Now here's the wireframe... but you must all promise not to look at it!!!! user added image

I do plan on remodeling the legs and hips before I rig the thing.

OK... almost done with the model.

I have the following to-do's before moving on to rigging:

Finish the head-piece
Shorten the shoulders
Tidy the legs
