leg plant with walk

whats the best way to keep the foot in the same spot while the rest of the body moves, in a walk cycle?

otherwise when i go to move the torso or something, the whole body moves including the legs, making him look half floating in walk cycles

any help would be greatly appreciated

In your foot IK Handle attributes, make sure the Sticky option is turned on, this will keep your feet planted on the ground and also stop them from going through the ground.
