how y'all do it?

hi, how do you all handle the software/hardware rendering when you have a scene with models+textures+particles wich would require both render methods for optimal result (or so I heard: hardware for particles, rest with software render)?

Composite the software and hardware renders in a compositing package like After Effects.

thx trip, guess after Maya I'll have another program to learn then. Is it hard to use or are there other programs like that?

After Effects is like using Photoshop with the addition of time.
I think it is a relatively easy program to pick up.

Combustion is another option. I personally like the interface in Combustion better than After Effects. More elegant and streamlined. But that's mostly my opinion. user added image

thx, I'll look into it later. I'm only on poly modeling for now, so maybe in a few months I'll start particles.
