Texturing Realistic Gold

G'day there,

I was just wondering if someone could give me some tips on settings to use for a Blinn (or any other shader for that matter as long as I can plug in my normal map) to create realistic reflective Gold texture?

I think it should be something with brown-yellow color and chrome...
You need to have an environmental sphere on Reflected Color
and high reflectivity and specularity.
Hope this helps,
Benny

When in doubt, delete history and freeze transformations.

Go over to highend3d.com, they have a couple of gold and similar shaders you can download, not sure on their setup but have a mess round with em.

Ok I've got some interesting effects going which I'll post soon.

Now would anyone know how to get that oily rainbow effect you tend to see in gold?
