Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Rear blades and cone done, Im not skilled enough to do the internal motor etc, way too advanced for this neanderthal.

my error dave, they are some sort of flow director, the fans are between and behind them.

see the blue things in there dave?? thats what I have in my engine. I need to do the blades as well and sit them between the 2 blue 'blades' I have in there.

Ok,

work got in the way and the wife was really crook so I didnt get much time in this week. Tonight I have done the aerilons in the last half hour. Do they look ok??? Kurt had his on the Spitty fairly rounded but I have gone with the jet thing, clean lines if possible.

P.S I will do the rear elevators tomorrow with luck!! Then its down to the cockpit.

Why is that dave???? I hear you and I understand the quads thing but I dont seem to have trouble with tri's etc??? or is this going to hit me like a truck for the future

I know your model looks good when you render but it could cause you problems with texturing also if you went to another 3d programme it might not be supported. Most modeller try to stick to four sided polys for most modelling, if you have a problem post it and I will try to help...........dave

Edit:I think that when reffered to a "clean mesh" one witch is only 4 sided polys

Ok mate but having quads isnt always possible?? and Im looking at it and I can see a few tri's (engine cone, front of fuselage)...Im going blind or you have shit hot eyesight LOL

I am not talking about those, im looking at you engine joint under the wing, I think the 3 sided poly are ok in those types of area, hope Im not cofussing you..........dave
