my cpu gets up to 116 f when i am rendering. Is that normal? I don't really know all that much about computers...

Depends on the cpu, but critical (that is when the silicon fails) would be around 176 f on a AMD and about the same on a p4. 116 shouldn't be any problems, it is a bit high on a p4 but it will throttle if it gets too high, and its normal temp on a AMD. Don't worry.

And howard, you ain't hatching anymore, aye? user added image
