Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Quadro4 750 XGL

OK Maya Gang I have a problem! No, not that one this one - my Quadro4 750XGL... Dopey bollocks here bought it and didn't look at the Hardware Qualification List close enough to notice that the recommended drivers version 43.51 are still being tested with this card under W2K - there are no issues under XP.

I get glitchy anomalies in the Maya interface, ghosting of dialogue boxes and things like that happening, it also plays silly buggers with QuickTime too. Other than that every other program seems fine.

So I thought I would try out the latest drivers version 45.23 to see if there was any improvement. They seemed better, but I still get annoying glitches.

I am using the predefined Maya optimization options in the Application Settings, I wondered if anyone could suggest if there is a way of resolving this problem sort of buying an FX500 or upgrading to XP which would be expensive and a pain...

Perhaps the slightly older version 30.82 drivers? Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,
I would try a lowwer driver. If I were you, I would go and upgrade to Xp PRO. IT may be a pain but it solves alot of problems and the quadro FX's are supposed to be slower than the 4's. Hope this helps, not sure about the problem.

I agree. instead of fighting it to work on Win2K, go with the OS that it's proven to work on. In fact, why not dual boot with XP? That way, you can keep Win2K and all yer stuff. user added image

Thanks guys! Looks like XP is looking more promising. My machine is in need of a refit, so I might as well go down the XP route now that it has been out a while...
