what the hell? we seemed to have jumped back from maya 4 to 3! this is what the shelves are like in version previous to 4, and for most ppl, it takes up more space than they wud like user added image i hope this can be switched back to the maya 4 shelf display user added image

yes you can hide shelves, and have them display as you please user added image

they dont take up any more room then in maya 4.0... just more buttons to press user added image

no i meant like, in 4 u have ur shelf selection in the shelf button to the left of all the tools, is that still there? cos when i was working in 2.5, the layout above killed me! grr

so these shelfs are are premade !! what will happen if you upgrade your maya from 4.0 to 4.5 with your existing shelfs ?

It will kepp the settings you already have...so the new ones wont appear unless you reset it all after

I hope not.... welll most of the items in my shelfs i put them also in marking menus so to be honest they all can be deleted, but just want to know.

I find the marking menus's a littbit easier then the shelfs
