Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

A Real Newbie Question

Hi folks, I've been using Cheetah 3D for a couple of years but I'm very new to Maya and feel slightly stuck. Basically I don't want to redo all my models again in Maya, I'd like to import the meshes I've got already. If I import a fbx or obj into the Maya the basic mesh looks great. But when I Covert>Polygons to Subdivision (for a smooth surface) the mesh becomes destroyed. Any advice here would be much appreciated.

Thanks
TerryG
