how to get my workspace back

I am extremly new to maya, and I accidently hit something that made made those numbers appear (the green & white) and I can't figure out how to turn it off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Note: see the attachment for screen shot of my problem.

Nearly right bubbleme80. What you've got displaying is your poly count and object details. To switch them off, go to display -> heads up display then check off poly count and object details .
