Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Poker set

I'm modeling my poker set I got for X-mas. Pretty much done with the case, just some part on the underside left. Gonna tweak the materials some too. Gonna open it and model the inside with the poker stuff next, chips, decks etc.

nice job with the case. Looks like you got one of those really nice sets! Love playing with real chips instead of the plastic ones.

Thanks Mike,

I'm no poker expert, just started playing sometimes with my friends like a year ago. The chips are some kind of plastic though... what are "real" made of?

ah too bad. The "real" ones are made of a clay material. With a fancy case like that, I'd have thought you'd have the fancy chips too. user added image

Oh, right. They are are actually clay-like, but I can't tell if it's fake or real...

Ok, I've done the inside aswell, a hellaofawork since I wanted nice bevelled edges for closeups. I know the place for the chips are to shallow, but since it wont show ehen I put the chips in I wont bother with it.

The render came out crappy though, will be better next time.

Really neat job there!

i really am a sucker for good metal / chrome shaders, and this one is superb!

only critique would be the "casing", Maybe a tad of noise would make the foam look better?!

Thanks for the nice words, guys.

Yeah, the foam needs a bumpmap and also some "glittering". Gonna look at that after I'm finished with the modelling.

Anyways, here's the latest render with some more stuff done.

how do you do your texture?

Its quite good. do you render it all in Maya, or have you bought the materials from the Internet?
