Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

i was able to make a representation of a person with 24 primitives but i can easily cut that down by 12 and you'd still understand that it's meant to be a person

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Computer skills I should have:
Objective C, C#, Java, MEL. Python, C++, XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, SQL, CSS, FXScript, Clips, SOAR, ActionScript, OpenGL, DirectX
Maya, XSI, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Motion, Illustrator, Flash, Swift3D

Sorry to keep posting, but one more thing if anyone's still stuck or confused. You're allowed to do a bunch of different things in your thread, and at the end you can pick your fav (or the one that gets the best response) as your entry. Just take 5 minutes and arrange a few cubes, post a screenshot, and then go from there.

Quick tip for quickly creating poly primitives. Hold shift, right-click with no geometry selected, and you'll get a handy marking menu for quickly creating objects.

And I didn't answer hammer's last question, sorry no booleans.

i know you said no photoshop but can we use it to multiply an AO render?

also, i didn't know there was a poly-disk until now...

Light linking is fine, AO multiply is fine, bump-mapping... well we said no textures, but if you post with and without, I guess it's okay... what does everyone else think?

Chirone, yeah I just discovered the disk as well.
