Thanks for the great feedback! As you can see by this post I just can't let this competition go ... just too much fun for me!
Well, even though the final submissions are closed I thought I would show a better comp of my render passes. If you haven't seen it or been introduced to the practice of an ID pass check out Alan Wood's tutorial. I used it here to tweak the settings on the hair, tusks and skin separately. Also I did a depth pass so I could fake a little DOF to soften things up a bit more. Mainly the hair that I modeled was just a bit too coarse for my liking. https://tenthchoir.com/Warthog_Post_Comp_001.jpg
Thanks for looking (again)
man it looks so real. the eyes are so dam good!! and the ears are fantastic looks cool how the appear thinner with light ppassing through. and the Blurring really helps too best work i have seen u do so far mate Well done!
I think with a bit of roughing the texture on the horns and a little more discolouration of the skin (mud or dirt blotches too) and people might think that was a real piggy
This is getting better and better. The only thing that is bugging me are highlights of eyes and the tip of muzzle. They are looking more difuse than they should. I guess sharpen highlights could give a better impression of wet surfaces.
Just a couple of tweaks, and this pig will jump out my screen!
Great work.
