Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Wow that's major progress!

I thought it was a reference picture at first, but then I saw it was your model.
Awesome work!

Keep it up!user added image

nice job perfecto - this is looking cool.

the ground texture in the foreground maybe looks a little big / flat. also it might be cool to push the contrast of the spec a bit more.

i like this a lot. user added image

Thanks for the generous comments everyone.

arran, yes, the ground does look flat. So far I havn't done anything special yet, like add bumps, specularity, etc. Just, texture mapping, applying the textures and rendering with one directional light with ray trace shadows. My render time right now is only about 5 minutes or less I think.

Once I finish applying the textures, I will work on lighting, shadows, bumps, etc (if I get time, hehe).

Sorry for not getting this in the finals everyone. I was going to spend a couple of hours on it last night to finish it up and then enter it, but an unexpected problem arose and ended up having to work really late. It's what I get for waiting til the last minute, hehe.

Anyway, I've enjoyed watching everyone's progress and seeing the final entries. Since the comp is over, I'll wait a few days before finishing mine, but will post the completed render anyway.

Damm, damm shame that mate.

You should finish it off anyway, add all the spit 'n' polish.
