This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

R@nSiD - Jan/Feb Challenge Entry

My partner was given a wonderful gift of a Puppy Labrador Retriever for her Christmas, from a wonderful and generous person.

<cough> Me

So I think I will model him.

I will get a picture of him as soon as I can, at 8 weeks they don't tend to stand still long enough for you to take one... Ill have to use referenceImages from Giggle...

well from here it looks like a dog... don't forget to use picture references, and i gotta admit that it would look better with something hanging out of its mouth... like an arm or the like user added image

i dont know it maybe alittle bad taste at the mo.

here in the uk we have a series of children attacked by dogs, (think one died). Maybe give the dog 2/3 heads.

good start though, nice flow going though the head.

Steve,

Yes the plan is to work on the hind leg tonite for a bit, and get that in correctly. I did a Sub-D on it earlier and it was looking OK. Might take it in to Z and see if I can get it detailed for the muscle structure.

The plan is to do the entire body and head. I am gonna rig him and then pose him looking up with one paw raised (well that's the plan anyway).

Got to finish the front leg and attach it to the body and then its time to detail. The paws are really hard. I am finding this challenge exceptionally hard. Organics is my real Achilles Heal. I have never been able to do it in the 1 and a bit years I have been playin with Maya.

Oh well, never quit, never surrender.
