This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Thanks Guys

Im looking at alot of seabed and coral for color references, mixed with squid and crab.

Im doing the coloring and rendering in Zbrush, and so far the coloring has taken me around an hour or so...

Cheers

Update....

Took me a bit to figure out how to put different materials and textures on different objects. This is a Zbrush render (1 light) not finished yet, still need to add tearducts and a possible hat/bandana and earing are in the works

Cheers
Jay

Nice going Jay, looks awesome!

Are you polypainting it or projection mastering the colours on??

Only one crit: the part of the eye between the nose and the eyeball is open (meaning there’s a hole in the eye socket).

great job jay - that last render looks mad - especially the eyes.

so you can actually paint on to the model in zbrush? I need to get a copy, but I'm wondering, if i want to put it on to 2 computers so my wife can use it as well, do I need to buy 2 copies like maya?

sweet render, Jay!

Yes arran, they added poly painting. It's intensely awesome - but yes they still have that wonky license you suggested

One thing I meant to mention earlier is that I think the model is lacking a bit of low frequency deformation in a few places, mainly around the eyebrow. But that's just my preference. I also think you could play on the colors just a little more around the eye and maybe on the lips. Once you put on the hat/bandana this will be money! I really like his left ear and the eyes especially.

Good job, man user added image
